NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BINGHAMTON NY
930 PM   EDT  SAT  MAY  31 1986

A THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING
AND POSSIBLE HAIL WAS IN DUTCHESS COUNTY ABOUT 10 MILES EAST OF
POUGHKEEPSIE.

THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS COVER MOST OF THE CATSKILL AND LOWER
HIDSON RIVER VALLEY REGIONS OF NEW YORK.

IN PENNSYLVANIA A THUNDERSTORM WAS 7 MILES NORTH OF MUNCY.  OTHERWISE
MOSTLY LIGHT SHOWERS WERE EAST OF WELLSBORO..JERSEY SHORES AND HARRISBURG
INTO NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND THE NEW YORKS CATSKILLS.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

.. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CAUSING HEAVY RAINS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING OVER
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL NEW YORK....
   A NEARLY STATIONARY LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDS WEST TO EAST THROUGH
THE FINGER LAKES FROM AVON IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY TO TULLY AND LAFAYETTE
IN ONONDAGA COUNTY. WITH LITTLE NORTH AND SOUTH MOVEMENT THESE STORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 2 OR 3 HOURS AND WILL PRODUCE
FREQUENT LIGHTNING HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND POSSIBLE SMALL HAIL IN THE ABOVE
AREA.
