THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF

NEW YORK...SOUTHERN WASHINGTON

AT 800 AM EST THIS THURSDAY MORNING THE BATTENKILL RIVER WAS ALMOST
OVER ITS BANKS FROM GREENWICH TO SALEM IN WASHINGTON COUNTY..WITH
WATER ALREADY ON ROUTE 29.

FURTHER TO THE EAST AROUND THE NEW YORK..VERMONT BORDER THE
BATTENKILL RIVER WAS OVER ITS BANKS.  ROUTE 313 NEAR ARLINGTON
VERMONT WAS CLOSED EARLY THIS MORNING BECAUSE OF FLOODING.

THIS CREST WILL TRAVEL FURTHER DOWNSTREAM AND WILL MOST LIKELY
CAUSE FLOODING ON THE BATTENKILL RIVER FURTHER DOWNSTREAM IN
SOUTHERN WASHINGTON COUNTY.

IF YOU ARE NEAR THE BATTENKILL OR OTHER STREAMS IN SOUTHERN
WASHINGTON COUNTY..STAY ALERT TO THE CURRENT RIVER AND STRE|AM
CONDITIONS AND BE READY TO MOVE TO HIGH GROUND IF NEEDED.
