SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, ROSWELL, NM 510 PM MDT THU JUN 26 1986 .....A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR WESTERN CHAVES COUNTY UNTILL 700 PM MDT..... THE TORNADO WARNING ISSUED AT 330 PM MDT HAS EXPIRED AND AT THIS TIME NO REPORTS OF SEVERE HAS REACHED THIS OFFICE. A LARGE AREA OF VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOW REACHING FROM ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ROSWELL'S AIRPORT ALONG THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAINS WEST OF ROSWELL TO ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE CITY. THIS AREA OF STORMS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED VERY DANGEROUS ABD AVOIDED.
