Important Information: Ozone Forecasts will be ending for the season on Wednesday, September 30th. Ozone forecasts will resume April 2027. *** Current conditions: As a strong New England storm finally moves out to sea and high pressure settles into the Mid-Atlantic, clouds are mixing with a little sunshine today with good air quality. *** Wednesday’s Forecast: Dense fog and low clouds will dissipate between 9:00am and 11:00am with partial sunshine returning by the afternoon. Air quality for ozone and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) will be good. *** Extended Forecast: High pressure will shift over the Atlantic Thursday with a southwest wind across Pennsylvania. This will create unseasonable warmth with temperatures more typical of early June than early October. Low-end moderate air quality for PM2.5 is expected Thursday because southwest winds will transport smoke from wildfires burning in the southern U.S. into Central Pennsylvania. Air quality for ozone will remain good Thursday. Beginning on Friday afternoon, a cold front will bring showers and a shift in wind direction. High pressure will bring dry weather Saturday, but rain chances will return Sunday. Air quality will be good Friday through this weekend. -- Curtis
