1659, November 11. Teun Island. Strong earthquakes on the 9th, accompanied by a rumble, forced the local residents to flee to Nila and Damar Islands. A strong eruption of Teun Volcano (Funuweri) followed on the 11th. The rumble which it caused, like a cannonade, was heard at Ambon and on the Banda Islands. A tidal wave was observed in Ambon Bay.
