Tsunami waves are identified in the Gavdos tide series, just after the earthquake that occurred on 15 June 2013 at 16:11 UTC about 61 km south of Pirgos, Greece, on the basis of the USGS catalogue, at the highly active margin of the Hellenic subduction zone south of Crete, at a distance of approximately 110 km from the Gavdos harbor.
