NCEI’s account, from the sources it cites.
Berninghausen (Reference #43) reports eathquake with Intensity VIII-IX, and Mercalli-Cancani Scale of 6 1/4. At Dalrik and Eyjafjordhar "the shock caused considerable damage with 3/5 of a mile of the epicenter. Ships in the neighborhood experienced a powerful blow as if they had suddenly grounded, and an unusual wave disturbance was noted." He references the British Admiralty (Reference #1869).
