A weak aftershock with estimated magnitude 4.9 caused the water recession in Balaklava Bay (south of Sebastopol in Crimea) on 16 September 1927 at 0821 GMT, at focal depth of 27 km with the epicenter coordinates of 34.0 E, 44.3 N (KOERI database). The intensity of this tsunami can be considered as intensity III–IV according to the new tsunami intensity scale of Papadopoulos and Imamura [2001]. (reference #4213)
