A strong violent sea surface was observed near the western coast of Crimea on 25 July 1875. The earthquake was weak with estimated magnitude of 5.5, approximate epicenter 44.5 N, 33.3 E [Nikonov, 1997]. The intensity of this tsunami can be considered as intensity II–III according to the new tsunami intensity scale of Papadopoulos and Imamura [2001]. (reference #4213)
