NCEI’s account, from the sources it cites.
Berninghausen (Reference #43) says "No shock mentioned. Mount's Bay, Falmouth, Fowey, and Plymouth -- Waves noted." His source is Borlase (Reference #3953) who is also quoted by Mallet and Mallet (Ref #1879). Borlase says: "On Tuesday, the 28th of last July, the day quite calm, the sky lowring and cloudy, thunder at times all the day, the tide in Mount's-bay was considerably agitated." There was a dramatic rising and lowering of the sea between Penznace and Marazion. In the evening, a great lightning and thunder storm occured.
