Sept 24, 1722. Ise Bay. Houses washed away, some deaths. Owari, Ise, Shima, Kii, Mikawa, Kanto: storm surge. No earthquake description. (reference #150)
On Sept 24, 1722, a destructive tsunami was observed in Ise Bay on the coast of Aichi Prefecture and the Kii Peninsula. The water reached the temple at Atsuta. There was no shock. Imamura (reference #2559) considers the wave to be of storm origin. (reference #414)
Sept 24 (14), 1722. Ise Bay. Observation: Japan, Owari (Ise Bay), Kii. Disastrous. Water reached Atsuta shrine. No quake. Imamura considers possible storm surge. Imamura date of Sept 14 erroneously converted from old calendar. (reference #79)
