In discussion of initial retreat of sea in tsunamis, Milne remarks that in 169O at Pisco the Sea retreated 2 miles, returning in 24 hours. Report probably refers to 1687 Oct. 20 tsunami which Milne (1908) does not otherwise mention. (reference #79)
