1. EF065 to 85 mph

   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

2. EF186 to 110 mphthis tornado

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mph

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

7. Unrated

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

A second tornado formed in northern Jack County in association with the intense supercell which tracked across the county into Wise and Parker counties. This second tornado formed west of Post Oak Road, just north of its intersection with Campsey Road. The tornado moved southeast in open terrain producing substantial tree damage as it paralleled Campsey Road. Most of these trees exhibited damage consistent with high-end EF-0 winds on the order of 70-80 mph. However, a number of trees exhibited more significant snapping and twisting along this part of the track, commensurate with low end EF-1 wind speeds of approximately 90 mph. The tornado continued southeast for approximately 4-5 more miles producing additional high end EF-0 and low end EF-1 damage to trees, a couple of oil storage tanks, and a few homes and outbuildings. The tornado crossed State Highway 59 west of Cundiff and dissipated shortly thereafter.

From April 24 to April 27, daily thunderstorms developed during the late afternoon and evening, triggered by a dryline and a meandering frontal boundary. These long-lasting supercells were fueled by a highly unstable and sheared environment, resulting in several tornadoes, damaging winds, and very large hail. Two fatalities occurred on April 25th.

A tornado formed west of US Highway 148 at its intersection with Puddin Valley Road, in northern Jack County. This tornado tracked southeastward through open country, producing scattered tree damage and light structural damage to one residence. The tornado dissipated shortly after crossing Post Oak Road. The damage was consistent with high-end EF-0 windspeeds of 75-80 mph.

The county was under a tornado watch, issued at 20:52 UTC and running to 04:00 UTC.
