This EF0 tornado ran 0.1 miles across Lamar County on February 23, 2016, touching down at 4:07 PM CST and reaching 25 yards wide. It killed nobody, and did $5,000 of property damage.

Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded
Showers and thunderstorms occurred across the region in association with a potent low pressure system. Some of these storms produced tornadoes, strong damaging wind gusts, and hail.
This brief tornado snapped and uprooted several trees just south of Clear Creek Road in southwest Lamar County. Maximum estimated winds were 80 mph.
