EF1 tornado, Satanta to Kismet, Kansas, August 2, 2009
From Satanta to Kismet, this EF1 tornado ran 3.5 miles across Haskell and Seward counties on August 2, 2009, touching down at 8:50 PM CDT and reaching 75 yards wide. It killed nobody, and did $70,000 of property damage.
The rating scale

Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded
An unusually strong supercell thunderstorm for early August moved slowly south and produced two tornadoes in southern Haskell and norther Seward counties. Fortunately the tornadoes were narrow and there was not much to impact in this part of the area.
This was a narrow tornado that moved across a corn field but did minimal damage to the crop.
This narrow tornado damaged a pivot irrigation sprinkler and corn. It moved into Seward county at 853 PM CDT.
This narrow tornado moved out of Haskell county at 853 PM. It damaged two small grain bins and caused some roof damage to a home. Also, corn was destroyed as the vortex moved through the fields.
