1. EF065 to 85 mph

   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

2. EF186 to 110 mphthis tornado

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mph

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

7. Unrated

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

Severe thunderstorms, an one in particular (which started as a LP Supercell), produced very large hail and 5 tornadoes. There were also numerous gustnadoes and downburts reported.

This was a landspout that developed southwest of Garden City but occurred over sand hills full of sage brush and did not cause any damage.

This tornado broke power poles, roofs on homes, destroyed two mobile homes, disintegrated a shed and destroyed a pivot sprinkler. One female was injured when she was looking out the window and was struck in the face by a piece of wood that crashed into the window.

This tornado started out moving southeast but then curved back to the southwest towards the end of it's life. It unfortunately went through a cattle dairy and killed over 200 head as a tremendous amount of tin churned through the air. There was one male that received injury when a door blew in. There were 8 pivot irrigation sprinklers damaged or destroyed, along with power poles, trees, roof and window damage.

This was a landspout that was occurring west of a bigger tornado that went through a cattle dairy. This landspout damaged 3 pivot irrigation sprinklers as it moved southwest.

This tornado moved quickly into Haskell county at 746 PM (0046Z) but not before damaging three pivot irrigation sprinklers.

6 minutes of warning. NWS DDC issued a tornado warning for this county at 00:27 UTC, 6 minutes before the tornado touched down, in force until 01:00 UTC.

The county was under a tornado watch, issued at 20:47 UTC and running to 04:00 UTC.
