From Marion to Whittier, this F1 tornado ran 0.8 miles across Linn County on August 26, 2004, touching down at 10:36 PM CDT and reaching 40 yards wide. It killed nobody.

    Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded

A tornado briefly touched down in the Hunters Ridge area northwest of Marion and caused considerable damage to a house.

The second tornado in Linn county developed in a corn field and moved northeast or north northeast, crossing County Route E34 before dissipating in another corn field.
