EF1 tornado, Chumuckla to New York, Florida, February 17, 2008
From Chumuckla to New York, this EF1 tornado ran 2.1 miles across Santa Rosa County on February 17, 2008, touching down at 12:14 PM CST and reaching 75 yards wide. It killed nobody, and did $200,000 of property damage.
The rating scale

Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.
EF5over 200 mph
Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded
A long lived supercell thunderstorm moved across northwest Florida producing two tornadoes.
A moderate EF-1 tornado touched down just to the southwest of the intersection of Chumuckla Springs and Schnoor Roads and then moved northeast. The tornado ended just north of Howell Pitt Road. Two homes suffered extensive roof damage and a large heavy duty metal shed was destroyed. No injuries were reported.
