This F0 tornado ran 2.6 miles across Lamar County on March 13, 2006, touching down at 5:15 PM CST and reaching 75 yards wide. It killed nobody, and did $20,000 of property damage.

    Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

  6. F5261 to 318 mph

    Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded

An F0 tornado touched down near the intersection of State Highway 17 and State Highway 96, approximately 1.5 miles southwest of Kennedy. The tornado moved northeastward and crossed County Road 49 before it lifted just east of Howell Road and State Highway 96. Several trees were blown down along the damage path and a few mobile homes suffered generally minor damage.
