- Winter Weather and Astronomical Low Tide in West Virginia, January 20, 2021A shortwave with an associated cold front crossed the region during the morning hours of January 20th. Scattered to numerous snow showers were able to develop thanks to sufficient moisture in the dendritic growth layer, along with jet-assisted ascent.
- Astronomical Low Tide and Winter Weather in West Virginia, January 1, 2021Strong moisture advection combined with crossing low pressure to produce precipitation on January 1st. Subfreezing temperatures during the morning were slow to warm during the day, creating a period of freezing rain across the region.
