- Avalanche and High Wind in Virginia, April 2 to 3, 2016A cold front moved through the area the afternoon of April 2nd, 2016. Wind gusts 58 MPH and greater brought down trees and power lines.
- Avalanche and High Wind in Virginia, February 16, 2025A strong pressure gradient in the wake of a cold front caused very strong, gusty winds throughout Southwest Virginia, with winds exceeding 60 MPH at times.
