- Cold in South Carolina, December 23 to 24, 2022An arctic cold front swept across upstate South Carolina during the morning of the 23rd and introduced the coldest air mass in more than 5 years.
- Cold in South Carolina, January 25, 2000A man in Anderson county was found frozen to death early in the morning. Authorities believe he stumbled and fell overnight and that alcohol contributed to his death from hypothermia.
- Cold in South Carolina, January 12, 1996Two young boys fell through the ice which developed on a pond following the persistant cold weather. Both died of hypothermia after they were rescued.
- Cold in South Carolina, December 25, 1996Cold weather was partly to blame for two fatalities (direct). An elderly man wandered away from home during the night and was found in a creek the next morning. An elderly woman turned the heat down to 50 degrees and died from hypothermia.

- Cold in South Carolina, February 2, 2026High pressure and light/calm winds led to a strong radiational cooling night across Southeast South Carolina, supporting temperatures in the mid-upper teens inland to the lower-mid 20s near coastal areas.
- Cold in South Carolina, February 4, 1996A woman died in her home after her kerosene heater ran out of fuel. The temperature was about 15 degrees in her home at the time her body was found.
- Cold in South Carolina, November 18, 1997Cold weather contributed to the death of a man who apparently fell asleep on the porch of a boarding house. Alcohol likely contributed to the death also.
- Cold in South Carolina, February 21, 1998A man died from exposure to the cold during the early morning. Alcohol was partly to blame.
- Cold in South Carolina, January 20, 2000An elderly woman fell outside her home and was unable to crawl 60 feet back to her house before falling victim to hypothermia.
- Cold in South Carolina, February 2, 2000A man was found frozen to death early in the morning in the city of Walhalla. Alcohol contributed to his death. Morning lows were in the middle 20s.
- Cold in South Carolina, December 12 to 13, 2000Bitterly cold temperatures persisted over upstate South Carolina during mid-December, eventually reaching dangerous status. A 79-year old male Alzheimer's patient died of susoected hypothermia sometime during the night of the 12th-13th.
- Cold in South Carolina, December 22 to 23, 2000The extreme cold that had affected northwest South Carolina for most of December claimed another Oconee County victim early on the 23rd. This victim was a 48-year old female, found locked out of her home, who died due to exposure to the elements.
- Cold in South Carolina, December 29 to 30, 2000The cold claimed another victim on the morning of December 30th.The victim this time was a 76-year old female, who became disoriented and died due to exposure to the cold weather. When found, she was clothed only in a thin nightgown.

- Cold in South Carolina, April 1, 1997Several cold snaps following the relatively mild late winter caused low temperatures to dip into the 20s and 30s, likely causing some damage to area crops.
