- Heat in Rhode Island, June 9 to 10, 2008An elderly couple in Central Falls, RI was found dead in their apartment where temperatures had reached 102 degrees.
- Flood and Heat in Rhode Island, July 20, 2013A pre-frontal trough moved into southern New England, providing lift for showers and thunderstorms to develop in a hot and humid atmosphere. In addition, CAPE up to 2000 J/kg and 30-40 kts of shear provided enough instability and shear for thunderstorms to become severe.
- Excessive Heat and Heat in Rhode Island, July 6 to 7, 2010A strong ridge built into Southern New England resulting in temperatures nearing 100 with high humidity. Heat index values ranged from 100 to 106 for most of Southern New England on the 6th and again on the 7th in a more limited area, generally the Connecticut River Valley.

- Heat in Rhode Island, December 7, 1998Unseasonably warm temperatures occurred throughout much of the state. High pressure over the western Atlantic generated an unusually warm westerly wind flow. A new record high temperature for the month of December of 77 degrees was established for Providence at T.F.
- Heat in Rhode Island, December 4, 1998A new record high temperature for the month of December of 71 degrees was established for Providence at T.F. Green Airport in West Warwick. The previous record was 67 degrees which was set in 1982.
- Heat in Rhode Island, January 3, 1998The maximum temperature at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick reached a balmy, record-setting 62 degrees. The previous record was 58 degrees set on this date in 1913.
- Heat in Rhode Island, March 31, 1998On March 27th, the high temperature at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick reached 81 degrees, breaking the old record for the date of 77 degrees set in 1945. On March 28th, the temperature rocketed to 81 degrees at 11:40 AM, breaking the old record for the date set in 1989.
