- Drought in Rhode Island, April 12 to 30, 2012The U.S. Drought Monitor declared a severe drought across Rhode Island, the eastern half of Massachusetts, and most of northern Connecticut. A moderate drought was declared over western Massachusetts and southwestern New Hampshire.
- Drought in Rhode Island, October 1 to 31, 2016A Drought Advisory continued for the whole state of Rhode Island during the month of October. The advisory encouraged voluntary water conservation and adherence to any local water restrictions.
- Drought in Rhode Island, November 1 to 30, 2016Rainfall was below normal for all of Rhode Island during November, with amounts ranging from near an inch below normal along the south coast to near two inches below normal in the far north and west.
- Drought in Rhode Island, September 13 to 30, 2016September brought more dry weather and continued drought conditions to much of southern New England. For many, the drought began in July 2016. At this point, this is a drought categorized largely by well below normal precipitation and groundwater and agricultural impacts.

- Drought in Rhode Island, August 2 to 31, 2016Below normal monthly precipitation that began in March of 2016, continued through August. In August, rainfall throughout much of Rhode Island was below normal. The governor of Rhode Island issued a drought advisory for the entire state on August 17th.
