- Winter Weather in Ohio, January 13 to 16, 1998A combination of occasional rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow, particularly on Tuesday the 13th, caused icy roads, bridges, sidewalks and other exposed surfaces. Many schools were closed.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, January 21, 2013A highly unstable airmass produced deep convective snow showers that produced snow squalls during the late morning into the afternoon. These isolated squalls caused whiteout conditions on area roadways.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, March 7 to 8, 2018An upper level disturbance brought light snow to the region during the overnight hours of Wednesday, March 7th through the early morning of March 8th. Significant travel issues occurred as some snow squalls created treacherous driving conditions across the region.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, November 22, 2014An upper level shortwave crossing the upper Ohio Valley brought light freezing rain through the morning hours of the 22nd.
- Ice Storm and Winter Weather in Ohio, February 1 to 2, 2011An ice storm hit the Ohio Valley, beginning late in the evening of January 31st. Low pressure traced from Texas to the lower Great Lakes region, and strengthened as it crossed the Ohio Valley.
- Lake-Effect Snow and Winter Weather in Ohio, November 11 to 12, 2019On November 10, weak low pressure developed across the Upper Midwest, extending a cold front from the Rockies towards the Upper Great Lakes.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, March 5, 2019An arctic air mass over northern Ohio allowed for widespread snow showers to develop during the morning and afternoon hours on March 5th.
- Extreme Cold and Winter Weather in Ohio, January 6 to 7, 2014An arctic cold front sweep through southeast Ohio just after midnight on Monday the 6th. Rain showers and temperatures in the 40s quickly became snow showers with temperatures falling through the 20s by the predawn hours.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, February 14, 2015An arctic cold front crossed the area and produced snow squalls. Whiteout conditions with wind gusting to between 40 and 60 mph created extremely hazardous driving conditions. Numerous accidents and road closures were noted across the region.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Ohio, February 1 to 2, 2011An area of low pressure developed over the southern Plains on February 1st and then moved quickly northeast. This low moved across northern Ohio during the morning hours of February 2nd. Three waves of wintry precipitation were associated with this storm across northern Ohio.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, November 11, 2019Rain changed to a period of moderate snow behind an arctic cold front during the afternoon and evening hours of November 11th. Total snow accumulations generally ranged between 3 and 6 inches.
- Winter Storm and Flood in Ohio, January 19 to 20, 2019A strong storm system moved through the Ohio River Valley and central Appalachians on the 19th and 20th. Temperatures ahead of this system were warm, so precipitation started as rain. Around one inch of rain fell on the 19th.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, December 26, 2008Freezing rain blanketed portions of northwest Ohio with a thin sheet of ice during the morning hours of December 26th. Precipitation developed ahead of an approaching warm front, with temperatures generally in the mid to upper 20s as the freezing rain developed.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, March 5, 2014A fatal accident occurred on March 5th in northeastern Van Wert County. Roads were snow covered and slick at the time from light snow that had been falling.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, January 8, 2018A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain created slippery travel conditions across portions of southeast Ohio on the morning of the 8th as an upper level disturbance pulled a stream of Gulf moisture north.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Ohio, December 15 to 17, 2007An area of strong low pressure moved northeast across Ohio during the morning hours of December 16th. Precipitation associated with this low spread into northern Ohio on the 15th and continued till late on the 16th.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, April 1, 2021A cold front entered the lower Great Lakes region during the early morning hours of April 1st. A band of snow spread across northern Ohio ahead of the front and 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulated across the region.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, January 22, 2021Lake effect snow showers over Northeast Ohio on the afternoon of January 22nd intensified as high pressure and much colder air entered the region.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Ohio, December 24 to 26, 2020A two-part winter storm event hit northern Ohio for Christmas 2020. Low pressure developed over the southeastern United States on Christmas Eve and moved up the spine of the Appalachian Mountains through the day.
- Lake-Effect Snow and Winter Weather in Ohio, December 4 to 6, 2024An arctic cold front blasted through Northeastern Ohio around and shortly after midnight December 5th. A band of snow squalls accompanied this front, with wind gusts of 50 to 60 MPH measured and visibility below one-quarter of a mile reported.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, November 22, 2014A warm front passed over the Ohio Valley. Due to a very cold ground, the rain showers in the wake of this warm front created a slushy layer of ice on road surfaces. While temperature sensors climbed above freezing in most locations, the rain still froze on area roadways.
- Extreme Cold and Winter Weather in Ohio, February 18 to 20, 2015In less than a week, a second arctic front swept through southeast Ohio during the late morning hours of the 18th. Snow showers formed ahead of the front, with a few bands lingering during the afternoon in its wake.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Ohio, January 20 to 21, 2012Prior to this episode, arctic air was in place near the ground. Moisture increased rapidly during the late afternoon on Friday the 20th. Strong warm air advection caused a mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to reach the ground during the evening hours.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, February 14, 2020A very narrow band of lake effect snow developed over Lake Erie and moved into extreme Northeast Ohio during the late morning and early afternoon hours on the 14th.
- Winter Weather in Ohio, January 8, 2016After a clear night, clouds increased during the predawn hours and light rain developed during the early morning. Pockets of freezing rain occurred at the onset, mainly in sheltered valleys. Several accidents occurred during the morning.
