- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Mississippi, February 15, 2021While several rounds of winter weather occurred leading up to February 15, 2021, the first major winter precipitation event occurred on this day.
- Sleet and Winter Weather in Mississippi, January 6, 2017A complex weather pattern eventually evolved into a widespread winter weather event across the area on January 6th, 2017. Strong surface high, near 1030mb, was building into the central and southern Plains.

A cold airmass was settling into the region and precipitation fell from the morning through the afternoon. As this precipitation fell, it encountered the cold airmass, with only minor melting.
