- Tornadoes and Hail in Maryland, April 28, 2002A massive tornadic storm tore through Central Charles and Calvert Counties between 7 and 8 PM EDT on the 28th. The tornadoes it produced left a 64 mile path of destruction ranging from F1 to F4 damage.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Maryland, June 2, 1998The combination of an upper-level disturbance, increasing atmospheric shear, and ample instability set the stage for a major severe weather episode across the north half of Maryland during the late afternoon and evening.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 26, 2009A potent cold front combined with plenty of instability to trigger showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms were severe, producing damaging winds and large hail.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Maryland, April 28, 2002Tornado path length 16-18 miles. One house and several outbuildings destroyed near Hip Roof Road. Most of the damage along tornado path rated F0 to F1.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, August 7, 2023A strong cold front, driven by an unusually strong upper-level trough and wind shear, interacted with a hot, humid, and unstable airmass over the Mid-Atlantic. This pattern resulted in the formation of lines of thunderstorms and several supercells.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, March 8, 2008Low pressure crossed the Mid Atlantic March 8th, bringing a strong cold front through the region during the late afternoon and evening. This front triggered several strong to severe thunderstorms that produced large hail and gusty, damaging winds.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 23, 2015A cold front moved south through the region. Southerly flow ahead of the front led to an unstable air mass, which combined with steepening mid level lapse rates and increased sheer led to numerous severe thunderstorms being triggered right ahead of the front.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 30, 2024Several bands and clusters of thunderstorms produced scattered instances of wind damage mainly near and east of Interstate 95 in Maryland and northern Virginia. There were a few instances of considerable wind damage in Maryland.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, August 3, 2002Several thunderstorms with high winds, large hail, and frequent lightning moved through western and central Maryland between 2 and 6 PM EDT. In Allegany County, a few trees and power lines were downed in Cumberland. Pea sized hail was also reported.
- Flash Flooding and Hail in Maryland, July 14 to 15, 2000A cold front moved across the region during the evening of the 14th. Thunderstorms that developed ahead and along this front produced very heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, large hail, and winds in excess of 55 MPH. Across Baltimore County, heavy rain flooded several roads.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 26, 1998A weak upper-level disturbance, combined with a surface trough, triggered a hot, humid, unstable air mass lying across much of Maryland.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Maryland, May 18, 1995A line of severe thunderstorms moved through the district during the afternoon of the 18th. Several trees were down on Beach Drive in NW D.C., and numerous others were reported down in the Federal sector (downtown).
- Hail and Damaging Wind in Maryland, June 17, 2000Slow moving thunderstorms dropped very heavy rain across Maryland during the afternoon and evening of the 17th. In Washington County, some streams rose above bankful and roads were temporarily covered by water after a deluge of rain. Over 1.25 inches of rain fell in 90 minutes.
- Tornado and Hail in Maryland, May 15, 1981
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 29, 2012A strong upper-level disturbance passed through the region in a northwest flow aloft. Extremely hot and humid conditions caused high amounts of instability. The upper-level disturbance triggered a line of thunderstorms that moved through the area.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, June 15, 2000A line of thunderstorms which produced winds in excess of 55 MPH, large hail, heavy rain, and frequent lighting moved across the area during the afternoon and evening of the 15th. In Washington County, several trees were downed on the north end of Hagerstown.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, July 5, 2020An upper-level disturbance interacting with a stalled surface front draped over Maryland produced widely scattered severe thunderstorms during the afternoon of Sunday, July 5th, 2020.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Maryland, August 3 to 4, 2017A weak boundary along with hot and humid air caused thunderstorms to develop. A few thunderstorms became severe due to high amounts of instability.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Maryland, May 16, 2025A line of thunderstorms developed over western Maryland and eastern West Virginia, then significantly gathered strength as it moved east into the I-95 corridor. Destructive winds, very large hail, and a tornado were observed with some of the most intense storms.
