- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Maine, February 16 to 17, 2025Primary low pressure system tracked toward western New England during the 16th, with a secondary low starting to develop across the Gulf of Maine later that evening. Favorable upper level dynamics supported intensification of the secondary low during the 16th.
- Winter Storm and Sleet in Maine, January 24 to 25, 2017Intensifying low pressure lifted north along the Atlantic coast from the night of the 23rd into the 24th. The slow moving low crossed the Gulf of Maine during the 24th drawing abundant moisture and warmer air aloft across the region.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Maine, January 11 to 12, 2020A warm front lifted north of the region early on the 11th allowing unseasonably warm air to overspread the region. A record high temperature of 55 degrees was set at Bangor on the 11th.
- Sleet and Winter Weather in Maine, March 11 to 12, 2026Low pressure system moves northeast towards Maine on Wednesday, as an occluded front passes over the state on Thursday. High pressure builds over Canada Wednesday, surging cold air into northern and eastern Maine.
- Winter Weather and Sleet in Maine, April 5, 2026Low pressure system moved over the Great Lakes region Saturday evening, resulting in warm air advection in the mid-levels. Deep warm nose led to sleet, and then a sleet/freezing rain mix early Sunday morning in the north and Central Highlands region.
- Winter Storm and High Wind in Maine, December 1 to 2, 2006Low pressure tracking across Downeast Maine brought a wintry mix of snow and sleet to northwest Maine. Snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches were common with local snow totals up to around 8 inches. Sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches were reported in the same area.
