- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Iowa, November 9 to 10, 2020Unusual warmth with a week of temperatures mainly in the 70s (even 50s and 60s on November 9 less than a day before this storm) was brought to an abrupt end as a deep trough of low pressure moved out of Rockies and into the Plains.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Iowa, February 3, 2008On February 3, 2008 a strong upper air disturbance moving through Missouri, produced an intense overrunning situation across the|region. Many areas of eastern Iowa, western Illinois and northeast Missouri reported thundersnows.
- Winter Weather in Iowa, February 3, 2018Two sisters were killed in a two vehicle accident north of Decorah (Winneshiek County) on February 5th. Roads were still partially snow covered from snow that fell two days earlier on February 3rd.

Mainly light snow fell for about a 5 to 7 hour period with total accumulations of 2 to 4 inches across eastern Iowa and northwest and western Illinois.

- Winter Weather in Iowa, January 16, 2013One person was killed January 16th after a car skidded off an ice covered county road, hit a rock, rolled and ejected the driver. The accident occurred near Harpers Ferry (Allamakee County) after freezing drizzle earlier in the day had created a glaze of ice on untreated roads.
- Winter Weather in Iowa, December 12, 2019One person was killed in a single vehicle accident north of Westgate (Fayette County). The driver lost control on icy roads, crashed into a ditch and was killed when ejected from the vehicle.
