- Tornado and Flash Flooding in Illinois, August 23 to 27, 2007Powerful and damaging thunderstorms moved across northern Illinois producing widespread wind damage.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Illinois, December 26 to 31, 2015A prolonged period of rainfall occurred from the early morning hours of December 26th to the evening of December 28th. The heaviest rainfall occurred in a 50 to 75 mile wide swath from southwest Missouri through the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area and into central Illinois.

- Tornadoes and Flooding in Illinois, March 31, 2023During the afternoon and evening of the 31st, a wave of severe thunderstorms produced numerous tornadoes, severe hail, extensive wind damage, and localized flooding across northern and northeastern Illinois. A total of 37 tornadoes were confirmed across the state.
- Tornadoes and Flood in Illinois, May 16, 2025A 500mb shortwave trough moved across the Upper Midwest with height falls across the Quad State during the afternoon and evening of the 16th. The exit region of a strong (125kt) upper level jet was positioned across the area as well.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flooding in Illinois, August 19 to 20, 2009A vigorous upper-level disturbance in conjunction with a warm front lifting northward through central Illinois triggered strong to severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of August 19th.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Illinois, September 13 to 14, 2008A warm front moved across northern Illinois during the morning hours of September 13th as the remnants of tropical storm Lowell moved across the region. These two features combined to produce heavy rain and flash flooding across many areas of northern Illinois.
- Flooding in Illinois, March 18 to 23, 2008Torrential rainfall amounts from 6 to 12 inches occurred over a two-day period, causing an historic flood event. A very slow-moving cold front over southwest Illinois and southeast Missouri provided the focus for prolonged heavy rainfall.

- Tornado and Flood in Illinois, April 8, 1999A tornado developed just west of Warsaw in Hancock County and produced F2 damage to homes in the south part of the community. 2 homes were destroyed while another 30 structures suffered damage, including the high school track and football field and fairgrounds.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flooding in Illinois, July 14 to 15, 2024Thunderstorms developed during the evening of July 14th and continued into the early morning of July 15th, as they moved across all of northern and central Illinois. Nine tornadoes occurred, along with widespread wind damage.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flood in Illinois, May 26, 2024The second major severe weather outbreak for the month occurred on the 26th for the Quad State region. On the synoptic scale, a shortwave trough centered in the middle of the country with a 60 kt mid-level jet moved across northern Arkansas.

- Tornadoes and Flooding in Illinois, November 17, 2013A major tornado outbreak impacted the Midwest and Ohio Valley on November 17th. A powerful low pressure system across the plains states steered warmth and moisture northward for nearly two days, with dew points rising into the mid 60s.

- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Illinois, January 8 to 11, 2008Heavy rain fell during the morning hours of January 8th which caused siginficant flooding over many areas of east central Illinois.
- Flooding in Illinois, May 16 to 21, 2009Several rounds of heavy rainfall in west central Illinois resulted in major flooding on the Spoon River in eastern Knox County and Fulton County. One man died when he drove his vehicle around a barricade and drowned in the Spoon River.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flood in Illinois, July 15 to 16, 2024A derecho moved across northern Illinois during the evening of July 15th producing widespread wind damage and 30 tornadoes in northeast Illinois. One of these tornadoes crossed into northwest Indiana.
- Tornadoes and Flood in Illinois, November 22, 2010Strong to severe thunderstorms moved across parts of northern Illinois during the afternoon hours of November 22nd. These storms produced two tornadoes, hail, heavy rain and some flooding.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Illinois, May 15 to 16, 2009A warm front lifted northward into the region during the early morning hours of May 15th, triggering a large complex of thunderstorms across Iowa. These storms tracked eastward into north-central Illinois producing very heavy rain west of the Illinois River during the morning.
- Flash Flood and Flooding in Illinois, February 19 to 28, 2018Very heavy rain fell across much of eastern Illinois on February 19th and February 20th which caused areal flooding across some areas and major flooding on some rivers.
- Flooding in Illinois, June 4 to 18, 2008Several episodes of heavy rain from June 2nd through the 4th, and again on the 6th, produced copious amounts of rain and extensive flooding in eastern Illinois which persisted for two weeks.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flooding in Illinois, August 4 to 5, 2008A powerful line of thunderstorms moved across northern Illinois during the evening hours of August 4th. Widespread and significant wind damage was reported along with several brief tornadoes on the leading edge of this line of storms.
