The deadliest
- Marine Dense Fog in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, April 17, 2015A fishing party of four men departed early on April 17 on a fishing outing from Bodega Harbor. Their overturned boat and two bodies were discovered near Tomales Point the following day. The bodies of the other two individuals were found over the next few weeks.
- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, November 1, 2014Long period swell produced high surf and dangerous ocean conditions. A boat capsized and several fatalities occurred.
- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, March 15, 2008Two men participating in a race to benefit United Celebral Palsy were lost at sea after they left the Richardson Bay Marina in San Francisco Bay around 9am aboard a 32 foot boat named Daisy on Saturday March 15th.
- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, May 31, 2014Two enlisted men from Texas and California were not equipped for cold and windy waters when they went fishing from kayaks and drowned not far from the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.
- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, April 11, 2015Two people died and one was injured while kayaking in the Strait of Juan de Fuca near New Dungeness during strong winds.
- Marine Dense Fog in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, June 29, 2020A boat sank after striking the south jetty of the Suislaw River on 06/29/2020. The Coast Guard received the distress call at 29/0150 PDT. Three people were on board, two died and one was rescued.
- Marine Dense Fog in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, September 26, 2021Just before 9:30 AM PDT, the USCG received a report of a capsized vessel just outside of the Umpqua River Bar. The boat was a 22 ft pleasure craft with 5 people on board. Three made it to shore with assistance.
- Marine Dense Fog in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, March 26, 2022A fishing vessel White Swan III based on South Beach, Oregon sank in the north end of Heceta Banks fishing area, about 35 miles west of Florence, Oregon. Coast Guard Sector North Bend dispatched a helicopter which found the vessel, but due to heavy fog had to return to base.

- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, September 29, 2007A Pacific storm brought strong winds to the coastal waters, which helped to increase swell conditions in the Columbia River bar. A man was thrown overboard in the strong winds and large swell. The USCG conducted a search, but never found the individual. He is presumed dead.
- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, October 7, 2013A 30-foot fishing vessel (Ruth) was operating near the Coos Bay north jetty when it was struck by a sneaker wave. The boat was swept into the jetty. Two passengers climbed onto the jetty, but a third passenger, a 50 year old female, was washed overboard and out to sea.

- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, November 15, 2013A Ballard Marine Construction Boat, an approximately 25 foot commericial aluminum boat, conducting underwater surveys off Alki Point capsized around 2 pm on Friday. 4 people were on board the boat, 3 were rescued, 1 was found in the wheelhouse of the boat and he eventually died.

- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, October 26, 2018At approximately 4:45 PM PDT on 10/26/18, a 14-foot aluminum boat lost power and drifted out into the Umpqua River Bar, where it capsized. Four people were on the |boat: a husband and wife, both 75, and their son and their son's friend, both in their 40s.

Winds and seas resulted in 10 boats being beached near Zu iga Point (entrance to San Diego Bay) after the boats pulled from their moorings.

- Marine Strong Wind in Eastern Pacific Coastal Waters, December 27, 2006Gale force winds behind a strong cold front swept across the entire coastal waters off San Diego County. At the peak, winds were sustained 43 mph with gusts to 52 mph at San Clemente Island.
