At the peak of the tropical storm before 8 AM, the Weather Service Office and most of American Samoa loss power.

- Tropical Storm in American Samoa, December 20 to 21, 1998A stationary tropical depression was located to the west of the Samoan Islands with maximum wind gusts of 61 miles per hour early Sunday evening.
- Tropical Storm in American Samoa, March 5 to 6, 2000This tropical depression later developed into Tropical Cyclone Mona on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, although it was never a threat to American Samoa.
