- Hurricane in American Samoa, January 4 to 5, 2004Tropical Cyclone Heta was at its closest to American Samoa within 150 miles west-southwest of Tutuila on January 4th. Maximum winds recorded was 65 knots at 1242Z on January 5th over the Island of Tutuila.
- Hurricane and High Surf in American Samoa, February 14 to 18, 2005Hurricane Olaf, a Category 5, had sustained maximum winds of "160 mph and gusts to 190 mph. Waves up to 40 feet high hit some islands." Olaf made landfall over Manu'a Islands, causing severe damages to homes, crops, and highways on February 16th.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, February 24 to 26, 2005Tropical Cyclone Percy was a Category 2 when it pass Swains Island between the 26th and the 27th. A Hurricane Warning, A High Surf Warning and a Flood Watch were issued for the Island of Swains between February 24 through the 27th.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, January 1 to 5, 1998Swains was critically stormed by Hurricane Ron on January 2, 1998. The Territorial Emergency Management Coordinating Office reported that all of the 49 residents of Swains Island were fine except for a few minor injuries.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, January 22 to 24, 2011Tropical cyclone Wilma generated destructive waves and strong winds across American Samoa, and the eye of the storm moved over Tutuila a few hours after sunrise Sunday morning. Beach erosion and runoff were observed along the west, north and northeast facing reefs.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, February 11 to 13, 2010Hurricane Rene damaged crops and agricultural goods on Manu'a. Strong and gusty winds up to 82 mph ripped tin-roofs of 5 homes on Manu'a. Heavy rainfall triggered land and mud slides across Tutuila. Hazardous waves pummeled shores and created coastal erosion during this event.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, April 22 to 23, 2016Hurricane Amos passed near American Samoa during the early morning hours on the 23rd of April. The strongest wind speed and highest gusts were reported from the NOAA ESRL in Matatula, with winds peaking to near 65 MPH Gusts 74 MPH.
- Hurricane in American Samoa, December 11 to 13, 2012Cyclone Evan made landfall on Upolu on 12/2100Z. Evan was a Category 1 hurricane, and over 10 lives were claimed mainly during flash flooding.
