.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Sunday night)
Issued at 239 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2024

We will continue to experience fall like temperatures thanks to the
the continued cloud cover in the region. This will be due to some
moisture being trapped in the lower levels thanks to an inversion
aloft. Temperatures will increase tomorrow as warmer air will
gradually begin to return to the area along with moisture riding te
periphery of the ridge. Models hint at pretty efficient isentropic
lift occurring tomorrow into Monday at the 300-305K levels. This
along with the increased moisture should allow for a medium to
high chance for showers and thunderstorms mainly over the waters
during the day tomorrow. Some isolated to scattered showers could
creep onshore mainly along the coast, though else where should
remain pretty dry thanks to the drier air aloft. Sunday evening, a
boundary looks to push inland that should allow for showers to
develop along it. This should confine activity mainly along the
southern Coastal Bend into the southern Brush Country.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday through next Friday)
Issued at 239 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2024

Key Messages:

- Seasonal temperatures to continue through early next week

- Rain chances increasing early next week

Rain chances will continue to increase Monday as an inverted trough
continues developing from Deep South to South Texas. While the best
rain chances are expected to remain south and east of us, rain
chances will increase to the 50-80% range from Monday night through
Tuesday night, decreasing to the 30-70% range Wednesday with the
main focus being across the Victoria Crossroads. Most of South Texas
can expect rainfall accumulations under 1" from Sunday night through
Wednesday with the Coastal Bend having a medium chance to see
accumulations between 1-1.5" for the aforementioned timeframe. A
warm front will move northward towards mid-week next week which will
help promote warmer temperatures once again with temperatures
climbing into the lower 80s. The warmer temperatures will continue
through the end of the work week next week before the front becomes
stationary and increases our chances for rain again next weekend and
dropping our temperatures back down to seasonal values. Before the
arrival of the warm front, seasonal temperatures are expected to
hang around with highs generally ranging from the mid 60s to mid 70s
and lows from the low 50s to mid 60s.

.MARINE...
Issued at 239 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2024

Generally weak northeasterly flow will prevail tonight with
scattered showers over the Gulf waters. Moderate east to northeast
flow will strengthen Sunday to the 15-20 knot range with a low
chance for winds over 20 knots Sunday. Showers are likely on
Sunday over the Gulf waters with chances increasing Sunday
evening into tonight. Strong northeast flow between 20 to 25 knots
is expected Monday through Tuesday morning, veering to the
southeast and decreasing to 15 to 20 knots late Tuesday afternoon.
By Wednesday, moderate southerly winds can be expected across the
local waters. Medium to high rain chances (50-75%) Monday will
gradually increase reaching the 80-90% range Tuesday and Tuesday
night before beginning to decrease Wednesday.
