Uncomfortable heat indices will persist for one more day before a
pattern change. A dry cold front will cross the area tomorrow and
allow cooler conditions to settle in. The next chance of rain
looks to come early next week.

An uncomfortable day is in store for the Mid-South as heat indices
areawide are in excess of 100 degrees. A 596 dam ridge will slowly
push east. This ridge is having a hard time inching its way as
Tropical Storm Debby rests on the Atlantic Coast of Georgia.

Very light northwest flow at the surface, will result in a lack of
mixing allow the surface to bake this afternoon as highs are in
the mid to upper 90s. Aided by dewpoints in the mid 70s, a Heat
Advisory has been issued for all of northeast Arkansas, the
Missouri Bootheel, and the Mississippi Delta region. Apparent
temperatures will be in excess of 100 degrees almost area wide,
but areas closest to Tropical Storm Debby are under the effect of
subsidence.

An approaching cold front will also slowly pull moisture allowing
the remainder of northeast Arkansas to experience heat indices
around 106 degrees today. As this front inches closer, drier air
will allow for less soupy air to settle in. The remainder of the
week looks pleasant with seasonable temperatures. The weekend
looks even better with below normal temperatures in the upper 80s
and low 90s. The next chance of rain is early next week.

inbound push, with post-frontal northerly winds likely to remain
