An upper-level ridge will continue to remain over the area
through tomorrow. A weak surface boundary, oriented north to
south, will linger along the KS/OK border this evening. This
boundary will be the focus for showers and storms this afternoon
and evening. A humid airmass characterized by surface dewpoints in
the mid 70s, could foster locally heavy rainfall overnight and
into tomorrow morning. With soils already saturated from rainfall
earlier in the week, flooding could be possible, especially with
forecasted PWATs of just over 2 inches in north central OK. As a
stronger cold front moves in from KS overnight, rainfall will
transition from north to south through the day tomorrow. A Flood
Watch is in effect for north central and central OK, down into
southwestern OK through the period. Temperatures tomorrow morning
and afternoon will still be below average.

The aforementioned cold front will continue to push through the
state tomorrow night. With the current forecasted timing of the
front, the best chance for precipitation along the front will be
Thursday night into Friday morning along southwestern and south
central OK. The aforementioned Flood Watch will remain in effect
until Friday morning at 12Z. Once this front moves through the
area, a drying trend (in terms of precipitation) will persist
through the weekend. Below average temperatures and drier air will
linger across the area all weekend, so expect July 4th to be
quite pleasant.
Models are suggesting a weak mid-level trough across the
central/southern plains by early next week. This trough could
bring with it some showers and storms across the area, but
confidence remains low at this time. That being said, left low
chances in for the lack of confidence. High temperatures will
remain in the low to mid 80s, which is still below average.
Southerly surface flow will bring in higher dewpoints relative to
the weekend.

A stationary front across northwestern Oklahoma and southern
Kansas, with scattered showers and storms ongoing in the vicinity
of the boundary. VFR ceilings should continue through the
afternoon. Overnight the front begins to move southward, reducing
ceilings to MVFR levels and precipitation chances through
overnight into Thursday. Surface winds with the frontal passage
will shift from southerly to northerly behind the front.

Thunderstorm chances will increase on Thursday and Thursday night as a cold front moves southward across the area. Storm chances then gradually shift southward into southern Oklahoma and western north Texas by Friday into the weekend. .Heavy Rain...
