(This evening through Monday) Issued at 150 PM CST Sun Mar 1 2020 This afternoon and early evening, the focus will be on the elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions in the southwest. But temperatures will drop fairly quickly this evening allow humidity to recover, so the period of greatest concern should be short-lived this evening. The cold front in northwest Oklahoma will continue to move southeast, and the relaxing gradient near the front will lower wind speeds this evening as well. The front will move through the remainder of the area this evening and overnight. Temperatures tomorrow will be noticeably cooler tomorrow north of the front, closer to average for this time of year. && .LONG TERM... (Monday night through next Saturday) Issued at 227 PM CST Sun Mar 1 2020 Models continue to show a southern track that takes the upper low across Mexico moving into Texas Tuesday night exiting the region Wednesday. There are still some slight discrepancies in timing of this system with the ECMWF slightly slower. However, they are closer with this model run and do seem to be converging. The upper low will bring a chance for rain Tuesday into Wednesday to areas mainly south of Interstate 40 with the highest chances along the Red River. The model trends continue to slowly adjust chances southward. The rest of the week is expected to be dry. After Monday, temperatures are also expected to be around average to above average for the rest of the week into next weekend. Breezy southerly winds will be possible next weekend. && .AVIATION...
