.AVIATION...

VFR conditions will continue to prevail in the region through this
evening. With the current clearing of the skies, fog and low
stratus development is expected overnight after 8z. Some areas of
IFR conditions are expected with these low ceilings and fog. These
lower ceilings are anticipated to lift by Sunday afternoon, and
will return to VFR conditions and light southerly surface winds.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 250 PM CDT Sat Aug 31 2019/

DISCUSSION...
Main concerns revolve around precip chances tonight, a return of
heat/humidity early this week and next weekend rain chances.

Models continue to indicate another, weaker complex of storms
developing this evening across eastern New Mexico into the western
Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. This activity will move
south/southeast overnight and may skirt western sections of
Oklahoma and western north Texas. Also with abundant moisture in
place, if skies are able to clear this evening, with light winds
could see some patchy fog again late tonight across parts of the
area.

After these rain chances, we return to more summer-like early this
upcoming week with daytime highs in the 90s with humidity aiding
in pushing heat indices back close to 100 degrees. It currently
appears that we should remain below advisory criteria, but will
need to monitor trends.

Surface cold front will drop south into the area Tuesday night
into Wednesday and will cool things off a bit for second half of
the week, and may provide a small chance of rain to northern
Oklahoma Tuesday night.

Latest GFS breaks upper ridge down by the end of the week and
brings a stronger surface cold front south into the area on
Saturday, bringing a more widespread chance of rain to the area
and a more substantial cool down.
