The Bridwells Wildfire began in Oldham County about two miles north northwest of Boise Texas at approximately 1344CST. The wildfire consumed roughly seven hundred acres. There was a report that three homes and two other structures were threatened but were saved. There were no reports of any injuries or fatalities. The wildfire was brought under control around 1644CST.

Meccariello PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 358 AM CST Fri Feb 8 2019/ UPDATE... Issued a wind chill advisory for Oldham and Deaf Smith counties until 10 am this morning. Winds have picked up to around 10 mph in these areas as the pressure gradient has started to tighten again. Will have to watch the rest of the western Panhandles to see if winds start picking up. We may need to expand the advisory if temperatures struggle to warm after sunrise. PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 320 AM CST Fri Feb 8 2019/ DISCUSSION... Southerly winds will increase today into the 15 to 25 mph range with higher gusts as a surface high pressure system moves off to our east and a new lee-surface trough develops to our west. Temperatures will not warm much over yesterday's readings as the air will be just re-circulating around the cold high to our east. Highs on Saturday are expected to be about 5 degrees warmer than today. Breezy southerly winds will continue, but the old cold air mass will be stubborn to leave. On Sunday, the winds turn more downslope and this should help to warm temperatures back up to normal or above, especially in the west and central. The cooler air may still linger in the east however. Another upper air disturbance will move just to our north again on Monday. The Panhandles will once again be on the warm, windy, and dry side of this system. However, would not be surprised to see a few rain or snow showers in the far east on Monday morning before the dry air mass overspreads the area. A cold front will move through the Panhandles Monday night into Tuesday morning as this disturbance moves out onto the central Plains. Temperatures will rebound again for Wednesday and Thursday as the upper system moves away from the region. FIRE WEATHER... On Monday, elevated fire weather conditions will be possible mainly across the western and central Panhandles.
