Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 1002 AM EDT Tue Jun 12 2018 .UPDATE... The 12Z sounding this morning showed moist conditions across the region, with precipitable water values around 1.9 inches. Light westerly flow will continue, with the Gulf coast sea breeze being dominant. The Gulf coast sea breeze was already beginning to move inland, with isolated showers developing along it. A weak area of low pressure was located near the GA/SC coast, with a surface trough just north of southeast Georgia. Another weak boundary was located across northeast Florida from convection yesterday evening. Weak +PVA was over northeast Florida, and this will drift east through the day, enhancing convection as it moves across the region. Scattered to numerous showers and storms will develop late this morning across the Suwanee Valley and then push eastward towards the Atlantic coast in the afternoon. A weak east coast breeze is forecast to develop and move towards I-95, concentrating convection across the eastern portion of the region. Convection will also concentrate near the surface boundary across southeast Georgia late in the day, and showers/storms continue into the overnight hours across southeast Georgia. The main update this morning was to lower PoPs for the morning hours due to a slightly later start. Otherwise, it will be a seasonably warm day, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. && .AVIATION... Light west winds this morning will become south to southeasterly for the east coast TAF sites as the east coast sea breeze moves inland. Showers and storms will move inland from the Gulf coast and impact KGNV in the late morning to early afternoon and then move towards the east coast in the mid to late afternoon and early evening.
