Convection was winding down across the region, with just some leftover light to moderate rain moving across the FL/GA border. Low stratocu is possible across coastal areas and south of the FL/GA border along and to the south of the weak frontal boundary overnight. West to southwesterly flow will continue across northeast Florida ahead of a weak frontal boundary, and convection may redevelop over the Gulf waters and push towards north central Florida overnight. Otherwise, mostly dry and mild conditions in the low to mid 70s will prevail. Guidance indicates that a line of convection will approach southeast Georgia in the late morning to early afternoon, but guidance indicates this line should be weakening as it reaches the Altamaha River. Strong wind gusts are the main threat from this convection. Another more intense MCS could move into southeast Georgia Saturday night, with damaging winds being the main threat. && .AVIATION... Convection was dissipating across the region this evening. A weak frontal boundary will drift southward across southeast Georgia towards the FL/GA border. Stratocu 500-1500ft may develop ahead of the front and impact the TAF sites after midnight through Saturday morning. Drier air will move into the area on Saturday, with much less convective activity. However, an MCS may move into southeast Georgia near the end of the TAF period. Light southwesterly winds 10 knots or less will prevail at the inland TAF sites. A weak east coast sea breeze is forecast to develop in the mid to late afternoon for east coast TAF sites. && .MARINE... Evening wind surge will lead to SCEC conditions over the offshore waters tonight. Southwest winds decrease some Saturday as the surface low lifts out but will be near cautionary levels again offshore Saturday night into early next week as another trough develops across the Carolinas.
