.DISCUSSION...
The November 1, 2016 06 UTC TAF discussion follows...

.AVIATION...
VFR conditions are expected to continue at most terminals through
the TAF period. One possible exception will be across southern
Oklahoma/western north Texas, where some low clouds with MVFR to
IFR ceilings may develop after 11Z. Overall confidence is low;
however, included TEMPOs at KSPS and KLAW where confidence is the
highest. KOKC might be on the northern periphery, so opted not to
include in at this terminal due to lower confidence.

Otherwise, a wind shift will veer/weaken the winds across
northwest Oklahoma prior to 12Z. Elsewhere, gusty southerly winds
will continue. Low-level wind shear is possible, especially
across north central Oklahoma where winds at 1500 ft will be
around 50 knots through 12Z.

DISCUSSION...
The November 1, 2016 00 UTC TAF discussion follows...

AVIATION...
Expect VFR conditions to continue at most terminals through the
TAF period. The possible exception will be across southern
Oklahoma/western north Texas, where some low clouds may develop by
sunrise tomorrow morning. The greatest confidence for MVFR to IFR
flight conditions is at KSPS, where a TEMPO group was added.
KOKC/KOUN/KLAW are expected to be on the periphery of any low
clouds; therefore, opted not to mention lower ceilings at these
terminals due to lower confidence.

A wind shift will veer the wind direction/decrease the wind speed
across northwest Oklahoma tomorrow morning. Otherwise, expect
gusty southerly winds to continue at most terminals.

PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 312 PM CDT Mon Oct 31 2016/

DISCUSSION...
Breezy south winds will persist this evening and into tomorrow.
Mid-atmospheric heights decrease a little over the Plains tomorrow
and we should bring the temperatures down a touch compared to
today. A weak disturbance developing over Texas will move
northeast toward northeast Texas/southeast Oklahoma tomorrow
night. Although it is not out of the question to see some
precipitation in the southeast with this tomorrow night, it
appears more likely that any precipitation will develop to the
east after it passes by our forecast area.

Higher precipitation chances are expected mid-week with a series
of shortwaves moving over the area in the southwest flow ahead of
the developing cut-off low over Arizona. However, ridging develops
over the Plains late in the week after a longwave trough moves
from the Northern Plains and Canadian Prairies into the Great
Lakes region. There remain some differences in what will happen
with the Arizona low late in the forecast period, so am not too
confident in any particular model solution at this point. But
there will be some precipitation chances this weekend and early
next week as this system moves into the plain.
