Winds will remain breezy for some but not quite as windy as yesterday. A low pressure system will drop in from Montana on Wednesday. This will bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the central mountains and upper Snake highlands for Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly into Friday. Another low pressure system will track south of the region through Utah over the weekend. Parts of the region closer to the Utah border might see a stray shower from this system as it passes by. Pattern remains somewhat active headed into next week as models show a couple more weak systems moving onshore which could produce a few showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain cool over the next 7 days. && .AVIATION...Breezy and gusty winds throughout the Snake Plain this afternoon. Low pressure trough settles southward into the central mountains Wednesday afternoon with a slight chance of thunderstorms developing over the higher terrain north and east of KSUN. RS && .FIRE WEATHER...The surface pressure gradient remains moderately strong today from Richfield to Craters of the Moon, east to about Wayan, and south to Oakley. Minimum relative humidity 8 to 14 percent. The limiting factor is the wind gusts, estimated to be 25-30 mph between Richfield and Pocatello this afternoon and up to 25 mph around Oakley. No Red Flag was issued for today, but it will still be on the breezy side. Wednesday and Thursday, a low pressure disturbance will slide south from Canada into the central Idaho mountains and bring isolated showers and thunderstorms north of a line form Galena Summit to Island Park on Wednesday; and Thursday further south to a Line from Hailey to Chesterfield Reservoir.Afternoon temperatures cool to the middle 70s on those days, and humidity mostly upper teens and lower 20 percent range. Friday and Saturday will be mostly shower free under west-southwest winds aloft. Then Sunday, a new disturbance is expected to form near the coast and slowly move inland.
