A strong thunderstorm produced an outflow that continued southward well beyond the original storm. Observed wind gusts along this outflow included 66 mph at the West Salt Flats sensor in the Dugway Proving Ground mesonet and 60 mph at the Salduro UPR sensor.
The Interstate 80 sensor in the Dugway Proving Ground mesonet recorded a maximum wind gust of 66 mph.
A strong thunderstorm moved through northern Box Elder County, with a maximum recorded wind gust of 62 mph at the I-84 at White's Valley sensor. This thunderstorm caused significant damage in the town of Portage, Utah, with several trees damaged or knocked down and approximately ten homes with shingle damage. In addition, a porch awning collapsed, injuring a woman and sending her to the hospital.
A maximum wind gust of 62 mph was recorded at the SR-30 mesonet site.
The Rosebud RAWS recorded a peak wind gust of 61 mph.
