Monthly rainfall amounts during the month of April were well below normal for South Texas. Soil moisture levels decreased dramatically during the month. Severe drought developed again over the northern Coastal Bend into the Victoria Crossroads by the end of the month.

COAST INTO THE COASTAL WATERS. WINDS REMAIN ELEVATED FOR COASTAL
SITES WHILE WINDS HAVE DIMINISHED INLAND. LOW LEVEL WIND SHEAR
WILL BE POSSIBLE AT VCT/CRP AROUND 08-09Z ONCE SURFACE WINDS COME
DOWN SOME. SOME CIRRUS WILL PASS BY EARLY THIS MORNING...OTHERWISE
SKIES WILL BE CLEAR WITH VFR CONDITIONS THROUGH THE PERIOD. THE
WINDS WILL VEER TO WEAK SOUTHEAST BY TUESDAY EVENING AS THE RIDGE
AXIS SHIFTS INTO THE GULF WATERS.

OF 925MB IS PROG TO BE SLIGHTLY FARTHER EAST THAN EARLIER GUIDANCE
INDICATED...WHICH SHOULD ALLOW FOR LIGHTER SPEEDS ACROSS
PREVIOUSLY ADVISED AREA. WIND SPEEDS ALONG THE IMMEDIATE
COAST...HOWEVER...WILL LIKELY BE MUCH STRONGER THAN AREAS LOCATED
A FEW MILES INLAND. ALSO DROPPED GALE WARNING FOR AREA BAYS AND
