What happened

The episode as NWS CRP wrote it up.

Widespread rainfall over portions of South Texas during the month of July helped to alleviate the drought over the region to an extent. The exceptional drought over the Coastal Bend was reduced to extreme drought by the end of the month. Beneficial rainfall of 3 to 6 inches occurred over western Webb County, the Victoria Crossroads, and the northern Coastal Bend. The size of the extreme drought area diminished over the coastal plains by the end of the month.

Corpus Christi and Victoria remained under stage 2 of mandatory water restrictions through the month of July. The cities of Portland and Gregory continued under mandatory water restrictions also. Laredo remained under voluntary water estrictions. Different stages of water restrictions continued for Beeville, Point Comfort, Alice, Kingsville, Taft, and Odem during the month.

Pastures showed some improvement with the rains, but ponds remained generally low in many areas.

LOWERED MIN TEMPS BY A FEW DEGREES ACROSS PRIMARILY EASTERN/NE
