.PUBLIC UPDATE...SURFACE FRONTAL BOUNDARY HAS ALL BUT DISSIPATED.
LOCAL OBS INDICATE MAINLY LIGHT WINDS...WITH A FEW COASTAL SITES
REPORTING ONSHORE WINDS SUSTAINED NEAR 10 MPH. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE
WILL REMAIN ANCHORED NORTH OF THE AREA WITH AN INVERTED TROUGH
LIKELY FORMING OVER THE LOCAL COASTAL WATERS OVERNIGHT.

DOPPLER RADAR CURRENTLY SHOWS NUMEROUS LIGHT TO MODERATE SHOWERS OVER
THE JACKSONVILLE METRO AREA EXTENDING SOUTHWARD TO MARION COUNTY.
THESE SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK EASTWARD AND WEAKEN OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. AS THE COASTAL TROUGH ESTABLISHES LATER
TONIGHT...SOME OF THE COASTAL SHOWERS WILL LIKELY SPREAD ONSHORE
BEFORE DISSIPATING.

MSAS ANALYSIS INDICATES THE ATMOSPHERE HAS QUICKLY STABILIZED...AND
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS NOT EXPECTED THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT. ZFP
HAS BEEN UPDATED.

THIS FORECAST WILL REMAIN RATHER OPTIMISTIC WITH RESPECT TO
CEILING HEIGHTS OVERNIGHT. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CECIL...CEILINGS
ARE IN THE 4000 TO 8000 FT RANGE HERE EARLY THIS EVENING. THIS
GENERAL TREND IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE. WILL INCLUDE MVFR TEMPO
GROUP FOR FOG IMPACTS AT CECIL ONLY. FLOW WILL BECOME NORTHEAST
AND GUSTY (UP TO AROUND 20 KNOTS) SATURDAY AFTERNOON. MOSTLY
CLOUDY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL WITH CEILINGS PRIMARILY JUST ABOVE
MVFR LEVELS...HOWEVER LOWER CEILINGS CAN BE EXPECTED IN PASSING

The Jacksonville Beach Life Guard station performed a total of 6 rip current rescues over the weekend. One near drowning occurred around 8:30 am in the morning at Jacksonville Beach before the life guards were on duty. The woman was rescued by Jacksonville Beach Fire Rescue then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
