What happened

The episode as NWS DMX wrote it up.

The recent pattern of heavy precipitation in western Iowa and light in the east reversed during June. Some residual flooding remained on the Iowa River at Marshalltown. In addition, minor flooding occured on parts of the South Skunk River in the Oskaloosa area from rainfall early in the month. Precipitation totals were less than one-half of normal across much of western Iowa while very heavy rains flooded parts of east central and southeast Iowa. Monthly precipitation totals varied from only 0.58 inches at Sac City to 9.87 inches at Marengo. Sac City’s total was their second lowest June total among 129 years of records (only 1933 with less at 0.56 inches). Only minor crop flooding occurred from the flooding as precipitation was not all that heavy.
