A funnel cloud was reported near Cape Coral at 10:32 AM EST and it briefly touched down as a tornado at 10:45 AM EST near Cypress Lake Drive. No damage was reported.
Marble to penny size hail was reported on North River Drive which is about 12 miles east of Highway 31 and just north of the Charlotte and Lee county line.
Penny size hail was reported along 77th Avenue.
Thunderstorm wind damage was reported along the 3300 block of Silverpond Drive. The winds damaged a chimney, pool cage, and downed a few trees.
A fire at the 1300 block of Commerce Blvd. at a tropical furniture factory was started by lightning. The 11,000-square-foot building valued at $1 million was a complete loss. Damage to the contents in the building was about $500,000. No injuries were reported.
Penny size hail was reported near Highway 470 and Northwest 56th Boulevard.
