Hail fell over much of the eastern half of Comal County, causing damage to some windows of homes and vehicles
Eight people were riding tubes down the Guadalupe River when large hail began falling. They exited the river and were trying to avoid the hail by hiding under a tree when lightning struck. The most seriously injured of the group was leaning against the tree trunk. He suffered a heart stoppage but was resuscitated. Another victim was reported to have suffered a spinal injury. All later recovered.
A Skywarn spotter reported 1 inch hail near the intersection of Ben White and Lamar.
The Austin media reported golfball-sized hail near the intersection of Ben White and IH-35.
An NWS survey team noted several trees blown down, with numerous large limbs knocked out of the trees. The event was caused by a small-scale downburst in the Freiheit area.
Hail was reported by a Skywarn spotter near the intersection of Stassney and William Cannon.
